File limits
Paste a column, or import a TXT, CSV, or Excel (.xlsx) file. Up to about 5.2 MB per file and 100,000 data rows per list. CSV files must use UTF-8. Compare one selected column, not entire spreadsheets.
Your results
Current resultsUse Excel for IDs; CSV may change them.
Some values contain tabs. Pasting into a spreadsheet may split them into columns; use Excel download to keep one value per cell.
Choose Excel groups
A new workbook with the selected groups. The main Excel button downloads Only in A, Only in B, and In both. Compared values are stored as text. Your original files are not modified.
Help & FAQs
Text replacement and splitting
- Choose Clean up beside a list. Select Both lists if you want the same change on each side.
- Use Find and replace to change text. For example, find
SKU-and leave the replacement empty to turnSKU-123into123. To turnred, green, blueinto three lines, choose Split into lines and Comma. - Review the preview, choose Apply changes, then compare. Undo cleanup restores the most recent cleanup while it is still available.

Comparing Instagram followers
- Choose Instagram lists, set the target to List A and the description to Following. Select
following.htmlfrom your Instagram export, or paste usernames or profile URLs. - Review the preview, then choose Apply usernames. Repeat for List B with Followers and
followers_1.html. If your followers are split across several numbered files, select them all together. - Choose Compare lists. With Following in A and Followers in B, Only in A shows accounts you follow that are absent from your followers export; In both shows mutual follows in those files.
For a before-and-after check, put the earlier list in A and the newer list in B. A missing name alone does not explain why it disappeared.
Choose HTML when downloading your Instagram information, then unzip the download to find these files. Use Following and Followers exports from the same time period. If a file cannot be read, you can paste usernames or profile links instead.

Will you upload or save my lists?
Comparison and file reading happen in your browser. Your lists are not sent to us or saved by this tool. Refreshing or closing the tab may clear them. Site hosting logs and optional usage analytics are separate; see Privacy (new tab).
Can I compare two Excel columns?
Yes. Import each CSV or XLSX file, choose a worksheet for XLSX, select one column, and review the header and preview. Or copy and paste one column at a time. Download all three result groups as Excel, or the current group as CSV or TXT. Original files are not modified. Cells containing line breaks are not supported by this workflow. Read Compare two columns in Excel: formulas and a no-formula method (new tab).
Are 00123 and 123 the same?
No. Each item is treated as text, so 00123 stays different from 123. Turning on Ignore case makes Apple and apple match, while keeping the original spelling in your results.
Does a missing value tell me why it disappeared?
No. List difference only describes the inputs you provide. It cannot confirm identity, history, quantities, or the reason a value is missing.
SMALL EXAMPLE, CLEAR RULES
Find what's missing.
See what matches.
Paste names or product codes, or import CSV and Excel files. Select one column from each file and, for Excel, choose the worksheet. This list compare tool checks whether each distinct value belongs to A, B, or both.
Open a result to check its source positions. Download all three result groups as Excel, or copy or download a complete group as CSV or TXT.

SKU-A

SKU-B
With the default matching rules:
Only in A — missing from B: 00123, SKU-A
Only in B — missing from A: SKU-B
In both — common values: 123
Duplicates in A: SKU-A appears twice in A. Repeated values within one list are different from matches between the two lists.
Text IDs stay distinct: 00123 does not match 123. Results show membership, not quantities; SKU-A is one group with two source lines.
Try a sample you can check
The 9 October 2026 synthetic test by worktoolmap.com returned 3 / 2 / 4 distinct values in Only in A / Only in B / In both with trim on and case sensitivity on. The larger sample exported 125 / 125 / 125 values; every group was copied and its TXT, CSV and XLSX download reread.
